Welcome to vailmom.com!  This resource is always being built.
Come back often to see what else we’ve added!

I was inspired to put this site together from all of the extraordinary information that is discussed on our fabulous Facebook page, but often gets lost as time goes by. I hope to be able to place a lot of that information here so it is easily accessible at any moment.

To contact me, send me suggestions or request advertising space, please send emails to chiefmom@vailmom.com.

Here’s an incredible resource for just about everything: http://eagleyouth.org/index.php/main/resources.

Now, what can we help you with?

This resource is always being built.
Come back often and send me ideas you think should be included here.
Contact me if you want info on how to get your establishment listed first, info linked or graphics displayed.

Swaddling: Use the blankets from the hospital or buy some swaddlers with Velcro!  Use two of the smaller blankets overlapped on each other.  YouTube can help you here.  🙂

Sleep needs:  Babies need a lot of sleep!  20 hours (night + naps) for a newborn is not only common, but good for them.
Sleep Coaches: Betsy Barney

Who can I call for help? Your doctor or 911 in an emergency.  Call a friend, if you just need a few minutes to vent or to get advice.  Go to BABY AND ME at the Edwards Medical Center on Wednesdays at 2:00. (Listed on FB under Vail Valley Baby and Me)

Nursing (The Good, The Bad and The Ugly):  It’s NOT EASY.  It doesn’t come as naturally as you might have thought.  Don’t be ashamed to ask for help — To reach a lactation consultant via VVMC please call (970) 479-6455 (MILK).
La Leche League –– Meets once per month on the 3rd Thursday at the Gypsum Library from 10:30-12.
Nursing Bras?  Soma or Bosom Buddies in Denver…  Otherwise, Target, Wal-Mart, or the Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs have them too.  Nursing tanks are great too.

Diapers: Cloth or Disposable?
There are reasons for both, but know that both are very possible in this area.  There are no diaper services (people who wash them for you) but it’s easy to do you yourself.

Pediatricians:  Colorado Mountain Medical is our local group.  Pediatric Partners has a group nearby as well.  Eagle Valley Medical Center is located in Eagle.
